2011 Fundraising Banquet

This years fund raising banquet promises to be an exciting evening of testimonies, great food, uplifting music from Pastor Adam Holcomb the new worship leader from Maranatha Bible Church, and a special message from Pastor Craig Peters, one of the preaching pastors from Maranatha Bible Church.

About Craig Peters
Craig is one of the teaching Pastors at Maranatha Bible Church in Akron, Ohio, and has been in full time ministry for over twenty five years. Craig is a dynamic speaker and communicator of God’s Word that is both challenging and encouraging. He speaks passionately about issues that impact individuals, families, and church leadership. Craig is the author of several books, and resides in Akron, Ohio with his wife Ann and three children.

Last month I brought attention to the fact that we had need for a washing machine and a dryer for one of our families. It is with great joy that I report back to you that this need was graciously met by some of our contributors that had very good used equipment that they were able to donate for this need.

Due to the layoffs, the inmates have been spending a lot of time in lock down mode, which leaves a lot of time that needs to be spent wisely.
We are asking that if you have books in your library that you would be willing to donate that are in good shape we would love to take them off of your hands and get them into circulation.
We also receive a lot of requests for study Bibles, remember there can be no metal, so that rules out zippered Bibles and most chapter tabs.

If you would be interested in giving books, please contact me by email and we will make arrangements to pick them up. Remember, material gifts are tax deductible, and will be receipted upon request.

A thought: most folks buy a book and read it once, and then it sits on your shelf for a thousand years until you die and then your family throws them away , or something like that. If you buy a book read it and then donate it to the jail, it may get read a couple hundred times or more, really. I am not kidding. We have some folks that are ravenous when it comes to good books.

We, for years have desired to have a campus for men and women coming out of jail and prison. We don’t know what that may look like, or when or where that will be, but we are burdened to do this.

Please continue to pray to the Lord of the Harvest asking for wisdom, finances and laborers to do the work that He has called us to.

We have always believed that God’s work, done God’s way, will never lack God’s provision.
